Discover the 700 year old secret millions died to protect.

5 out of 5 Stars! “This book has all of the qualities of a great mystery and a great fantasy molded together into a wonderful story.”

by Book Blogger, Kaitlyn in Bookland,

“Hobin was a great lead character. I loved trying to figure out the mystery and going through Eamon’s letters with him. After reading each letter, Hobin would share his thoughts and questions–I was pleased to see that I shared a lot of those thoughts and questions with him!

I loved how each of the characters had distinct personalities. I felt like I really got to know Eamon through his letters and was racing through the book to see how his story ended.”

5 out of 5 Stars! “…well worth reading just for the finale.”

From Goodreads by, Shadowlantern

“It took me a bit to get into the book but, once I got in a little ways, I really began to enjoy it! It was very different and unique and I felt like I was tracing some great mystery backwards.

There were some very interesting and powerful concepts thrown in right at the end that were really the highlights of the story and, even if I hadn’t enjoyed the book (although I did), I would have thought it well worth reading just for the finale.”

…another 5 out of 5 Stars! “I cant wait for more of Hobin’s Fieldguides”

From Goodreads by, Jeremiah Tipping

“I absolutely Love Demoni Vankil. The adventure I took with that gruff gnome Hobin was definitely a superb one. I was able to connect with the characters so well, Jaime’s writings have a way to bring out emotions ( good and bad) that make you feel that you know and care for the people your reading about in the book.

I really liked being able to go back and Learn some of the history of the Wanted Hero universe i cant wait for more of Hobin’s Fieldguids.

Five stars for sure !! XD ”

About the book ‘PRELUDE TO A HERO’:(Chronicles of a Hero series)

Wendell is a young man who learns what his potential is while on a strange, enchanted world with a funny old wizard and ugly troll to mentor and guide him. Prelude to a Hero, the debut book about how Wendell came to be the one expected to save an entire world. . . by accident.

5 out of 5 Stars! “The theme of a misplaced, unlikely and reluctant hero never grows old for some of us who remain boys at heart.”

by Blogger, Nathan Taylor,

“We like to believe that it’s possible that the fate of the universe could rely on someone not too different from us, who can become many of the things we long to be.

How they get there is half the adventure, whether through burning bushes, blows to the head, or a fall down a rabbit hole (or in this case a intergalactic wormhole). Like Alice’s wonderland this adventurer also begins by wondering whether it might all be but a dream, but his unlikely guide Dax makes for an unconventional rabbit or scarecrow reminding him he’s not in Kansas anymore, and that imagination doesn’t come with bruises. ”

“…a great introduction to what I know will be an even greater book series.”

by ‘Books That Spark’,
“Wendell captured my attention right from the beginning and in my opinion has all the essential characteristics in order to make a book both readable and enjoyable. I could relate to him…I loved his sense of humor. By the end of the book, I felt such a connection with Wendall that I almost feel protective of him. Perhaps a strange feeling, but I’m definitely looking forward to reading the further development of his character in the upcoming books. ”

“This is a really fun, fantasy read.”

by Book Blogger, Kaitlyn in Bookland,

This is a classic underdog story and I cannot wait to see where Wendell ends up. Wendell is actually a really funny character. He is self-deprecating, awkward, and some of his inner (and spoken) dialogue is hilarious…once Wendell was introduced, I was hooked.
We all want to be important and Prelude to a Hero really showcases that. Wendell feels as if he has been overshadowed his entire life. I’m sure we can all relate to this. Who hasn’t felt under-appreciated at some point? I was definitely able to relate to the characters in this book. I really enjoyed it. A nice, quick read that had me interested in the sequel!

“…this series is going to be interesting.”

by ‘Booksaurs Reviews’,
“One of the best parts of this story is the twist in the book–it really drew me in and I wanted to know what was going to happen as a result. The book ends at a good spot because it gives readers enough info about the characters and world, but we still want to know what’s going to happen next.”

“…will garner a popular following…”

by ‘The Life of Fiction’,
“Even in this short prelude Wendell grows a lot. Things he thought were true end up being lies and he really has to figure out who the good guys are and who the bad guys are. And his ultimate decision is what to do with his life.”

“I found myself snorting in laughter as I read…”

by ‘A Book Vacation’,
“Buckley is a fantastic writer, keeping the reader entertained throughout the book. I must say that I was very impressed with the writing style of the novel and, as Prelude to a Hero sets the background for the rest of the series, I believe the series is going to be exceptionally good… ”

“Quirky, unique and oh so funny.”

by ‘Magical Books’,
“The writing in Prelude to a Hero was incredible. The narrating and inner thoughts of Wendell (the main character) were really amusing. You know that awkward guy who never tries to be funny, but everything he does and says just becomes hilarious? Wendell is that person.”

“…a very fun and mystical trip to the other side of the universe.”

by My Summer Girl Books,

“WANTED: HERO is a fresh, dramatic and fast-paced tale…”

by Scholarberry,
“Wendell’s wimpy, not popular and squeaks like a little girl. Oh, and Wendell’s a drama queen.

What I like about this book: It’s fast-paced and it’s funny.”

“I can’t wait to see where the rest of the series goes!”

by Book Briefs,
“I loved the narrator of the story. He was funny and philosophical all at the same time.

…while this book is more of an introduction to the series, I think it is worth reading because it does a really good job of allowing you to get to know the characters. I feel like I was with Wendell on this whole journey. I was confused when he was, and I was torn about what decision he should make. That is good writing. I can’t wait to see where the rest of the series goes!”

“…an adventure all young readers will love.”

by Dana Does Read,

“…wonderfully light, hilariously funny and an all around good time. It’s an adventure that all young readers will love. …I loved the surprise ending, and am intrigued about what will happen to Wendell in the stories to come!!”

“I found it quite entertaining…”

by Read Me, Bookmark Me, Love Me,

“I must admit that this fun tale had me giggling throughout. Jaime Buckley makes good use of Wendell’s hilariously unaware and over-the-top personality. He says and thinks the most absurd things at opportune moments, making it difficult not to like him. The use of punctuation and general formatting also help to further emphasize the humor.”

“It’s been a long time…”

by Book Blogger, Nathan,

“It has been a very long time since I have been deeply moved by a book. And you know you have found a great book when you want to slap the author and give the author a hug at the same time, when you take some of the plot turns personally. How can you laugh (a lot), cry, feel vengeful anger and fall so in love with the characters in a book thinner than your pinky?!”

“I was amazed.”

by Blogger, Micah Bonnell,

I admit that I expected it to be pretty good… but it turned out really good! I was amazed.
The book is an easy read, a fun read, an entertaining read, and I’d suggest it to anyone who has time to read anything… or who doesn’t have time but needs to relax for a moment, or delve into a completely new, and exciting, world… Really I would recommend it to basically anyone.

My one regret? … I want more of the story!

I will be waiting…

Jaime Buckley’s innovative on-line approach to the action comic genre is a fantastic ride. Once I started reading and experiencing it, and it is indeed an experience, I couldn’t stop. Ok, here is my official comment on the series…I LIKE IT!!!!

Immerse Yourself in a Fantasy World

By Bonnie Nuttall

Buckley’s creation is bound to endear itself to anyone who reads it and has at least a little bit left of being a kid inside of them. Who didn’t want to be a great wizard or warrior in some fantasy land, but ended up realizing we weren’t up to saving the real world. Well, neither is the main character of this story … but he is all they have to work with, so he’ll have to do! Not only does Wanted Hero weave a fun tale, but it does so with fantastic artwork. So if you have a hankering to immerse yourself in a fantasy world – dive right in and buy a copy. I did, and its scarcely sat on the shelf since – with friends and family wanting to look at or borrow it.

Awesome stuff

Thomas B. Rosenzweig “Toma the Old One

I find this book to be awesome both in the plot line and in the drawings. Jamie has a great comic book here. Since I know some of the folks he has taken to portray in his book it is even better than I thought. I have two copies of this and might get another as this will become a hot collector’s item worth your effort to get one or two.

Entertaining, quirky, and a whole lot of fun.

By L. A. Kane

Wendell is kidnapped by little green man, flown billions of light years from earth, and told that he wields unimaginable power. His captors think that he is the last in a line of royal heroes, foreordained to save the universe. The problem is that they’ve got the wrong guy! I haven’t seriously looked at any comic books since my teenage years, decades ago, yet picked this one up on a friend’s recommendation. Three pages later I was hooked! Excellent drawings, quirky adventures, and a wicked sense of humor make this outstanding collection uniquely entertaining. Highly recommended reading!!

Great Comic

By Drew Anderson

Wanted Hero has it all- great artwork, an interesting story line, humor, drama, you name it. It’s a must-read!

Black and white and read all over…

By Roaring Girl

Being an old school fantasy and comic book fan, as well as a freelance editor, I appreciated not only getting a book format of the original great e-comic, but also the excellent story and fun characters! A new twist on the “reluctant hero”, this book has intergalactic travel, nasty baddies, mildly incompetent but really funny sidekicks, and plot development that keeps you reading. With impressive illustrating, writing suitable for (and appealing to) all ages, Buckley’s book is hot! I can’t wait for the next one.

Made me laugh!

By Ted Truscott-Sensei, The Yama Neko Dojo

I enjoyed it very much. Jaime surprised me quite often with his wit and plot twists.Even the teens in the house are taking time off the video games to read it!

Thanks Jaime.

Awesome Comic Book!

By Wim Demeere

I’ve been reading comics for a long time now and this one is a favorite. It has all the ingredients: action, comedy, emotions, everything. But probably the best part is the main character. He’s more of an anti-hero than anything else… or perhaps not. The character of Wendell has evolved throughout the different issues. Contrary to many comics, he is no one-dimensional persona. Precisely this makes it easy for both children and adults alike to relate to him. He’s just an ordinary guy, like you and me, who ends up going on an extraordinary adventure. If you tag along, I’m 100% certain you won’t regret it!

Parents Should Hook Their Kids on This!

By Deborah Harper

Jaime Buckley has created a comic masterpiece that succeeds on all levels. The art is amazing, his characters are utterly unique, and the entire family will enjoy Wendell’s heroic quest. If you have never read a comic book in your life, this is the one that will convert you.

An Action Packed Humorous Yarn

By Alain Burrese - Mediator, Writer and Speaker

Jaime Buckley’s WANTED:HERO is creative, entertaining and addicting as you follow Wendell along with his adventures. Buckley is a talented illustrator and his writing is crisp and fresh with the right mix of humor and action. Just a normal average guy, with no special skills or powers. Wendell is plunged into the most unusual circumstances and most find the ‘hero’ within. I highly recommend WANTED:HERO to everyone who enjoys an action packed humorous yarn.

A Blissful Jump Back in Time

By John A. Riolo, PhD

The last time I read comic books I think they cost a nickel. But then again so did a ride on the New York City Subway and a cup of coffee. After reading WANTED:HERO, I realized I have deprived myself for too long. Jaime, keep them coming!

JAIME BUCKLEY IS A CREATIVE SUPERFREAK!

By DC Green, Author of Erasmus James & The Galactic Zapp Machine

…as for his artwork…it’s fresher and more startling than a NEWBORN MUTANT. For those still in doubt, I have just four words:

BUY HIS GRAPHIC NOVEL!
