Magic and the DS Crankshaft
Magic is simply the term used by those who haven’t figured it out yet.

My latest experiments have forced me to go back to Clockworks City and employ an old friend. Eugene Bubyl, the captain of the DS Crankshaft–a deep sea explorer. The government faction doesn’t use Eugene much anymore. They prefer to focus on the latest technology, rather than rely on good ‘ol fashioned talent and skill.

Morons.

*Ahem* I digress.

There’s a curious dilemma I am desirous to solve concerning the issue of Port Keys:

Does a port key return the owner to an actual three dimensional location in space, or is the Key locked onto the objects around it’s last location?

I know this may sound a bit confusing, but hear me out. If you use a Port Key, say from the Black Market, one of the locations is fixed…and that’s the Market itself (or rather the cave outside the Market). The secondary location can be anywhere. But here’s my quandary: If I were to port from the inside of a large box…and then while I was gone, that box was moved to a new location…would I, when I returned, materialize inside the box?

…or would I materialize where the box was last located when I ported from it?

This would make all the difference in the world as to how a Port Key could be (and should be) used. Consider porting from a moving vehicle! Should you vanish while in motion, when you come back, one of two things would happen:

  1. You’d appear in the car, sitting where you sat before, or;
  2. You’d appear in the road where the car was at the moment of your original port…and most likely be run over by another passing vehicle.

Hmmmm. That poses another question.
Would you also be susceptible to velocity as you port?

So many questions without ample information to satisfy! Thus I am calling upon Captain Eugene to assist me by taking me down on one of his diving pods. We will find out if I shall appear once more in the pod itself…or materialize in the salt water once the pod has been returned to the deck of the ship.

…wish me luck!!
